Job Description
This is a remote position.
A U.S.-based company developing a cutting-edge recreational platform with a worldwide pool of users is looking for a Product Data Scientist. The selected candidate will be tasked with designing databases and data pipelines using the latest technologies and tools. The platform enables users to be a part of long-lasting communities and engage in shared interests with fellow community members. This position requires a significant overlap with the PST time zone. During their Series F round, the company managed to secure more than $1bn in funding.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze product initiatives related to contributors and contributions, specifically related to posting, etc.
- Write SQL queries and perform A/B tests (using statistical analysis)
- Solid understanding of product sense
- Develop clean, responsive, and detailed stacks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data scientist
- Extensive experience in Python and SQL
- Nice to have experience with machine learning
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a data analyst or product analyst
- Extensive experience with SQL (Oracle, Vertica, Hive, MySQL, etc.) or a scripting language for data analysis (Python, R)
- Strong product sense to identify trends and communicate recommendations
- Demonstrable experience performing A/B tests and root cause analysis
- Prior experience with statistical analysis
- Solid understanding of the stat packages such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.
- Dashboarding experience with Mode, Tableau, or another similar tool
- Fluent in verbal and written English
