Job Description
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:
Enable fast and predictable delivery of Takeda’s clinical trials by performing business-driven operational analytics, as well as managing and improving Takeda’s clinical analytics platform
Inform and execute the operational analytics and reporting strategy related to the development and standardization of cutting-edge, real-time operational insights and analytics for GDO functions and study teams, and coordinating predictive modeling solutions for high-priority problem statements with Takeda functions and external vendors
Liaise with various internal and external groups (Study Execution Teams, Clinical Operations, Innovation & Data, Global Patient Safety Evaluation, Therapeutic Area Units, regions, CROs, and external vendors) to ensure proper development, deployment, and adoption of platform analytics to inform study planning, execution and reporting
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for identifying, standardizing, and operationalizing high-value analytics deliverables that support the long-term trial design and delivery
Supports Head of Business Analytics & Insights in identifying high-priority problem statements and coordinating predictive modeling solutions with Takeda functions and external vendors
Responsible for continuous engagement with relevant internal stakeholders (e.g. Head of Business Analytics & Insights, study teams, GDO functions, etc.) to drive adoption of Takeda’s trial analytics platform and tools
Responsible for high-quality, and timely delivery of assigned business analytics and reporting deliverables through effective utilization of Takeda’s clinical analytics platform
Responsible for maintaining portfolio market intelligence and analytics for portfolio analysis, including liaising with external data vendors
Serve as Subject Matter Expert for operational analytics and reporting, business intelligence, and data visualization for internal initiatives and projects
Evaluates, recommends, and communicates appropriate data visualization best practices, predictive models/techniques, and industry knowledge to other team members
Provide hands-on expertise and works collaboratively to design and execute bespoke analytics to support specific trial needs as required
Maintain a positive, results-oriented work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating with stakeholders in an open, balanced and objective manner
Support functional strategic initiatives and processes and act as a role model for Takeda´s values
DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS:
Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise
Deep expertise in the pharmaceutical industry and understanding of clinical development
Thorough knowledge of data visualization, data storytelling, business intelligence software, building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
Ability to serve as a “translator” between clinical development problems to analytics solutions and to lead others to learn this skill
Good project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing and changing priorities. Must have strong task management skills including planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management, and plan execution. In-depth ability to use Microsoft Office suite required
Sufficient knowledge of communication tools including online meeting and virtual meeting platforms to optimize communication and information exchange in a global environment

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS:
Bachelors’ Degree or international equivalent in an analytical field such as Statistics, Operations Research, Management Science, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or similar quantitative discipline required; advanced degree desired but not required
4+ years of applicable business intelligence, data science, data visualization, and/or drug development experience; or advanced degree in analytical fields as above and 2+ years of statistical analysis and/or quantitative experience (6 years total).
In depth experience using data science models and text mining to solve problems in pharmaceutical or healthcare fields.
Experience with human-centered design and user experience highly desirable
Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between business requirements and data required
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to connect, integrate and synthesize analysis into actionable recommendations for business growth
Proficient in at least one scripting language such as Python or R, in SQL and advanced Excel skills to query, manipulate and validate data across multiple domains.
Proficient in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Spotfire, etc, and Machine Learning Platforms e.g. RapidMiner, RStudio, MATLAB etc
Experience working with IT partners and vendors for business solutions desired
Strong independence and ownership of deliverables, including planning, execution, and communication skills
Global/international experience strongly preferred, including the ability to collaborate with colleagues and staff in other locations
Operational experience in pharmaceutical drug development with direct exposure to clinical development is highly advantageous
Healthcare business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry is highly advantageous

Base Salary Range: $130,000 Range Min to $186,000 Range Mid, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
