Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose: The VP, Data Architecture & Analytics will be responsible for leading a team of data architects, data engineers, and platform administrators for Synchrony’s CTO India Analytics organization supporting Synchrony’s data & analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with experience successfully hiring, developing, coaching, training and mentoring technical individuals and team.

What you will do:

• 
  Elevate Everyday: Mentor/Recruit a team of data engineers, architects, and platform administrators
• Develop strong partnerships across CTO peer organizations, functional partners and key decision makers
• 
  Act as owners: Orchestrate annual performance review process for CTO India Analytics team
• Ensure CTO India Analytics team members are compliant with all corporate and technical training
• Plan, develop, and lead operating budget process and alignment for CTO India Analytics team
• 
  Relate and Inspire: Provide direct leadership and management oversight for CTO Analytics platform administration team
• Provide daily coaching, mentoring, and career development for CTO India Analytics team
• 
  Champion Customers: Partner across CTO technology teams to plan and deliver platform lifecycle efforts
• Connect with local site leadership and affinity networks to connect team with engagement opportunities
• Partner with US-based Data & Analytic teams to ensure team alignment to strategic initiatives and scaled-agile lifecycle commitments

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
• Minimum of 12+ years of IT experience
• Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated people management experience in a large organization leading technology teams
• Minimum of 5 years data architecture, application development or data management experience
• Experience leading and developing data management teams
• Experience with data governance, master data management, metadata management, data architecture, and data quality
•

Desired Characteristics:

• Experience with data governance, master data management, metadata management, data architecture, and data quality
• Current subject matter expertise in data warehouse, data lake, machine learning, and AI technologies
• Architecture experience with large multi-terabyte (>100TB) enterprise data platforms
• Hortonworks Hadoop Distribution / Ab Initio / Oracle RDBMS platform experience
• Agile Development methodologies
• Must be comfortable and adept at presenting to executives and external clients
