As the Principal Engineer for the Claims Processing Engine you will play a critical role in defining and developing the distributed architecture used to process millions of healthcare claims a day. A strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, high availability and performance/reliability monitoring will be necessary to grow and scale the engine.

You Will:

• Developing efficient, observable code in Go and Python

• Defining and communicating (drawings, technical memos) architectural decisions

• Building automation to allow for effective testing, integration and deployment

• Working closely with Product Managers and User Experience team members on PRD scoping

• Reviewing pull requests and setting system wide conventions and standards

• Continually advocating for high engineering and product standards

You Have:

• Bachelor s degree in a technical field (computer science, engineering, mathematics) or equivalent work experience

• 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering and architecture

• 5+ years of technical (management or non-management) leadership

• Substantive experience in designing and building cloud-native applications

• Substantive experience in SQL and relational databases

• Substantive with non-relational databases (Redis, DynamoDB, etc)

• Experience with unit and integration testing database backed web applications

• Experience mentoring engineers
