The candidate will be part of PayPal EDP Engineering Team. The candidate will be responsible for analysis, design, coding and testing of the application code. The candidate has to interact with global cross-functional teams to address complex business requirements. The role demands the individual to possess technical skills required to perform the job in an effective manner. The individual should be self-motivated, possess creative problem-solving skills and have the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time. The candidate should have passion for data engineering analytics.

• 3 years of experience in the IT industry, experience in Data Technology space is preferred.

• Have xperience in programming language like Java, Scala, Python etc.

• Knowledge of framework like spark, spring, hibernate, spark streaming, etc.

• Ability to write complex and efficient SQLs, PL-SQL, performance optimizations, query tuning etc

• Ability to create scalable data model in RDBMS – OLTP (Oracle, MySQL) and OLAP

• Experience on data profiling, data analysis and data warehousing concepts

• Handled bulk and iterative data movement from one environment to another using batch jobs

• Knowledge of scheduling frameworks

• Ability to write scalable shell scripts with effective logging.

• Knowledge of data engineering python frameworks

• Working experience in any MPP systems

• Familiarity ETL tool (ie. Informatica) data pipelines is an advantage

• Working knowledge on Hadoop, Hive, spark, yarrn is an advantage

• Strong communication skills and willingness to take initiative to contribute beyond basic responsibilities

• Working in an Agile methodology is highly preferred

• Experience with cloud like AWS/GCP and cloud service is preferred.
