JOB SUMMARY

As a BI Developer (Power BI) you will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and supporting data analytics platforms using Microsoft Power BI and other reporting tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES:

80% Power BI Development

20% Database development using SQL-Transact

DUTIES:

• Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI with charts, graphs, tables, filters, matrices and custom calculations.
• Use models that source from SQL Data Warehouse that contains insurance and clinical data to calculate and aggregate metrics (admits per 1000, costs PMPM, readmission rates, etc.)
• Use SQL querying to validate results in your presentations when compared to source data.
• Work in normal sprint cycles while coordinating with other developers to ensure all pieces of a project are released on time.
• Troubleshoot reporting outages and make technical changes to reports to enhance their working.
• Create SQL views and stored procedures that support reporting.
• Create reports in SSRS when that format is better suited for the deliverable.
• Define, document and publish methodologies and assumptions for sign off by business owners.
• Complete ad hoc projects to support operations and end user analysis.
• Stay updated with advancements and best practices in design and development.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

• Microsoft Power BI experience essential
• T-SQL querying skills essential
• Experience with DAX, Power Query, MDX desired
• SSRS experience desired
• SSIS, SSAS and ETL experience can be helpful
• Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server experience is helpful
• Previous experience working within the healthcare or insurance industries is helpful

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field

Experience: Minimum of two years Power BI experience
