Senior Data Reporting and Visualization Engineer – Tableau, SQL

Job Description:

Responsibilities include understand the data visualization requirements and business requirements, use various data sources to develop and publish Tableau workbooks that best suits business needs. This is a technical position providing hands-on delivery role for data analytics projects working with a cross-functional team ensuring excellent delivery relationship.

Job Details:

   • Provide support to Business and Data Analyst(s) in gathering and/or clarifying data and reporting requirements from business owners

   • Lead and manage a team of Tableau developers

   • Design and Develop dashboards/reports in accordance with client requirements using Tableau 8.0 or later with appealing visualizations

   • Create and maintain Users, User groups, Permissions, Schedule etc. on Tableau server.

   • Install Tableau server and Client Components. Perform other admin tasks sch as automate scheduling, migrations across environments etc.

   • Identify and troubleshoot business process or data quality issues that show up in the reports and subsequently communicate to resolve and eliminate problems

   • Liase with Tableau support if required to get resolution and apply them

   • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases

   • Good exposure in writing Python, Shell or similar build scripting languages

   • Excellent understanding of Data modeling (Dimensional & Relational) on concepts like Star-schema, Snowflake schema using fact and dimension tables and relational databases

   • Experience using SQL to build custom datasets for reporting or analysis; Ability to write complicated yet efficient SQL queries and stored procedures

   • Comfortable in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources

Experiences:

   • Overall 8+ years’ experience in a professional software development in a data centric environment.

   • Must have Hands on Tableau tool for 8+ Years as a developer and Admin Past experience of leading a team, being SPOC for business Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

   • Must be hands-on and have working experience in SQL

   • Must be well versed with Data Modeling techniques like Star & snow flake schema, how to bring efficiency in data modeling for efficient querying data for analysis.

   • Must have the ability to communicate technical issues and observations. Must have experience in cross functional domain and end to end knowledge of business and technology.

   • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate & work with fellow team members and other functional team members to coordinate & meet deliverables.
