Responsibilities

• Define and execute a data driven strategy to protect customers from social engineering threats using a broad range of data science and machine learning approaches in collaboration with product and engineering leaders
• Be accountable for the data science protection stack of Microsoft Defender. Continuously drive a closed loop on data driven insights, customer experience towards upstream investments
• Manage and grow data scientists and leads on the team
• Drive AI innovation within the team and establish thought leadership via publications/patents and presence in industry/academic conferences
• Provide technical leadership by reviewing problem sets, proposing prediction models, and reviewing experiments and models
• Act as a resident expert for applied machine learning, statistics, and scaling ML solutions

Qualifications

Required:

• 10 + years of professional experience successfully deploying ML solutions at scale for real-world problems
• 2 + years people management experience
• Masters degree with relevant coursework toward Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning or equivalent work experience

Preferred:

• Experience with deep learning applied to areas such as NLP and computer vision
• Experience with deploying ML models on cloud technologies such as Azure
• PhD in a quantitative field (engineering, computer science, statistics etc.) with relevant coursework in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics & Deep Learning or equivalent work experience
• Ability to program in an object-oriented language (such as C# or C++)
