Who You’ll Work With
You’ll work with the Procurement Benchmarking team based out of McKinsey’s Client Capabilities Network Hub in Gurugram.
The procurement benchmarking team is internal and part of McKinsey’s Operations practice. You will support our client facing team in the usage and deployment of our practice-specific tools. In addition, you will work with internal practice resources to develop and maintain our tools.
What You’ll Do
You will spend majority of your time (70-80%) serving clients. Your role will be centered around providing access to simple “to-do” guides to client service teams, answering questions about tool deployment, how the tools work, and the insights they bring at a basic level. You will also provide client service teams with proper templates and material to deploy tools, analyze and synthesize data in relevant output templates and management of tools to allow tracking of work, understand usage rate, and consolidation of multiple data sets into larger analyses.
You will spend the remaining time (20-30%) on developing cutting edge knowledge related to the procurement domain. You will support the development and maintenance of procurement capabilities; including assets, knowledge, tools, fact packs, case studies, primers; and serve as a full-time member of a knowledge building team.
This is a cross geography, cross industry role and would work well if you envision yourself growing into an expert within the procurement domain.
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in engineering with an outstanding academic record
- Fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and partner with consultants and clients
- Strategic and analytical thinker, effective and proactive problem solver
- A high degree of self-motivation
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently and determine/adjust priorities, as appropriate
- Intellectual curiosity and an international perspective, ability to work collaboratively in a multi-culture team environment
- Interest in digital solutions and tech-enable daily work with solutions
- Demonstrating a genuine interest in research work, as well as sourcing and procurement topics
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills (R/Python/VBA programming) is a plus
- Knowledge of machine learning is helpful
- Quick to learn new skills, and comfort with technology
