Bachelor’s degree
Experience compiling large databases
Experience in data analysis with R
Experience working with different data types, such as weather data, crop growth data and genetics
Willingness to learn new technologies and data analytical methods
Experience working across disciplines and large groups
Applies knowledge in providing data analytics services. Identifies data patterns and trends, performs statistical analysis, and provides analyzed results to enhance decision-making and development of scientific reports.
Example of Duties
- Gathers soil and plants and weather data from various sources and compile databases
- Assist in the preparation, verification and visualization of the data.
- Perform data analysis with statistical and process based models and compile reports.
- Assist graduate students with data analysis
- Perform data exploratory analyses, confirmatory data analysis and/or qualitative analysis.

- Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision
- Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode
- Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope
- Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained
- Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher level workers as appropriate
- May lead projects of limited scope and complexity
- May provide guidance to students
