Each category above represents a set of initiatives, or unique activity, that will be evaluated for effectiveness and value through a research and analysis effort.
Researcher:
- Total per-initiative spend in dollars ($)
- Line miles to be treated in miles (mi)
- Ignition probability drivers targeted
- Utilizing list of probability drivers (SDR Table 24)
Risk per Circuit:
- Working with 3+ million different poles
- Analyzing risk factors beyond HFTD
- Corresponding with SMEs
- Granularity of risk analysis becoming more specific and detailed
- Dynamic environment, highlighting different KPIs
Analysis:
- Spend per treated line mile (or otherwise defined)
- Calculated risk reduction of the unique activity
- Risk-spend efficiency in dollars per unit of risk reduction
- Other risk drivers addressed as necessary
The research and analysis described above will be documented via formal reports summarizing the wildfire mitigation plan in its entirety and each mitigation activity. Beyond the WMP emphasis, there will be various ad hoc requests (ex: pole car crash analysis), specifically answering data questions. In addition, Insight Global will provide weekly reporting to convey program progress and a summary of ongoing findings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets.
- Python script experience (basic understanding)
- Palantir Foundry experience (within the context of utility companies)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to convey complex information to internal stakeholders and demonstrate flexibility when incorporating feedback.
- Ability to perform and produce time-sensitive results under often ambiguous conditions.
- Ability to work independently and balance engagements with multiple internal partners under minimal supervision.
- Competent in generating pivot tables and pivot charts
- Knowledgeable of creating reports
- Undergraduate Degree
DESIRED SKILLS
- Researching background
- understanding, experience or knowledge of PG&E, utility or similar
- Undergraduate degree in engineering (electrical, civil or mechanical)
