Roles and Responsibilities
- Formulating, suggesting, and managing data-driven projects which are geared at furthering the business’s interests.
- Collating and cleaning data from various entities for later use by junior data scientists.
- Delegating tasks to Junior Data Scientists in order to realize the successful completion of projects.
- Monitoring the performance of Junior Data Scientists and providing them with practical guidance, as needed.
- Selecting and employing advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insights.
- Cross-validating models to ensure their generalizability.
- Producing and disseminating non-technical reports that detail the successes and limitations of each project.
- Suggesting ways in which insights obtained might be used to inform business strategies.
- Staying informed about developments in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure that outputs are always relevant.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently work with cross-functional teams across the globe and to present information to all levels of the organization.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills – ability to develop hypotheses, understand and interpret data within the context of the product/business – solve problems and distill data into actionable recommendations. Intellectual and analytical curiosity – an initiative to dig into the why what & how.
- Strong number crunching and quantitative skills. Basic proficiency on ML techniques – clustering, decision tree learning, nave Bayes, support vector machines, Q-learning, the temporal difference, adversarial networks, and neural networks would be a plus
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint. Good hands-on experience in SQL. Experience in Text Analytics, Natural Language Processing
- Experience within Google Analytics, Optimize, Tag Manager, and other Google Suite tools. Experience in Python/R or any equivalent tools is mandatory.
- Understanding of Business analytics tools & statistical programming languages. An advanced degree in Data Science/Data Analytics or Math/Statistics would be preferred.
