Roles and Responsibilities
Role Overview:
– Storyboarding and presenting analysis to business stakeholders
– Preparing extensive data marts, identifying anomalies in data, data preparation in SAS
– Expected to work in close collaboration with the team and clients for general insurance claims & reporting analytics
– Analyzing SQL/SAS codes to prepare data dictionary and mapping them with external vendor vs internal database
– Interpreting SQL projects in order to understand end user requirements for building DataMart
– Knowledge with hands on SAS would be preferred
– Documentation on DataMart architecture and preparing presentations
– Open to learn new upcoming project require technology
– Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
– Ensure compliance with Data Privacy and Protection Guidelines
Key Responsibilities:
– Experience in data extraction and data manipulation in SQL Server followed by SAS
– Importing, merging and appending different datasets, joins in SAS
– SAS programming macros and other SAS functions like – proc import, proc sort, proc sql, data merge, proc transpose, proc export.
– Storyboarding and presenting analysis to business stakeholders
– Performing data quality checks and anomaly detection
– Knowledge of general insurance domain particularly claims and P&C actuarial concepts is a must
– Good written and verbal communication skills
Candidate Profile:
– Bachelors/Master’s degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields with consulting experience from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply
– 4-6 years- experience with must have skills as listed below
– MS SQL
– SAS (SAS programming, macros, PROC SQL)
– DataMart building
– Insurance experience particularly Claims
– Experience with other Visualization tools- good to have
– Data cleaning, transformation operations, loading data into data mart, Creating and sorting metadata
– Superior analytical and problem solving skills
– Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
– Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenge
