The Senior Data-Ops Engineer will work on a dedicated team to facilitate and improve the delivery of business-critical data at an enterprise scale in an Azure cloud-based environment. (NOTE: Must be experienced in data-ops engineering. Synapse experience STRONGLY preferred. Mortgage industry or FinTech experience preferred but not required. AWS experience nice to have, but team mostly works with Azure currently. This role will serve as a technical leader in our Data Engineering team.)
Essential Job Functions:
- Automate the timely and accurate delivery of reporting and analytics data
- Implement existing automation methodologies for data distribution.
- Contribute to the design of new data automation strategies which can be used in a rapid, scalable, and repeatable manner.
- Work closely with our DBA and development teams to design best in class Azure implementations
- Design & implement repeatable automation, build, test, deploy and release processes
- Collaborate with other groups to understand data needs and implement appropriate solutions
- Identify and integrate additional data sources and sets as needed
- Investigate and resolve technical issues
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records
- Serve as a technical leader in our Data Engineering team

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and work experience
- 5 years direct experience with Microsoft Azure
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft Azure stack including (at a minimum) PaaS, IaaS, Storage, SQL, NSGs, Redis, VNETs, Availability Zones, Azure Traffic Manager and Azure Active Directory
- 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting and deploying scalable data solutions using MPP databases (Snowflake, or Azure toolsets), data storage (Azure Blob Storage) and analytics platforms (i.e. Spark, Databricks, etc.).
- Expert level knowledge of Disaster Recovery architecture including data replication, RPO and RTO
- Experience with scripting and/or coding
- Strong understanding of automation in Azure including API Management, ARM Templates and/or Terraform. Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code
- Proven experience delivering large/complex Cloud platform projects
- Experience in configuring monitoring/alerting for different attributes in Azure
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and manage technical projects, including identification of project scope, requirements, deliverables, and coordination of project design and implementation activities
- Experience hosting data and applications in Azure
- Experience with managing and organizing Data lakes
- Windows Server experience (2012 – 2019)
- MS SQL Server 2016+
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools, specifically Azure Devops
- Intuitive and analytical approach to problem solving
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience discussing technology issues with business users and customers
- A highly self-motivated individual with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-first IT environment
