Position Summary
The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for working with leadership in all functional units of the business to understand their data needs, help define precise metrics using data from multiple systems and develop reporting and dashboards for use across the organization. An employee in this role should have a passion for working with data and for communicating with people to understand how the data they are requesting will be used and why the data will have an impact on the business. This role is expected to contribute to cost efficiencies with effective targeted performance in a highly logical, data-driven environment. Reporting to the Director of Business Analytics, this role will utilize data insights and a customer-focused mindset to provide the business with the data and reporting needed to understand and improve KPI’s across the organization.
Major Responsibilities
- Work with customers across the business to understand their data needs, determine the best tool to provide requested data and effectively communicate limitations to end users
- Design and develop data solutions for users in the business using SQL and Power BI
- Present effective data presentation/visualization options and review advantages/disadvantages with customers
- Develop reporting solutions internal to applications used at Erie Home when needed (i.e. Salesforce)
- Help monitor and maintain data flows from various applications into the data warehouse
- Document, align and maintain definitions for data sources and reports across the organization
- Build end-to-end data products with a high impact on the business and operations
- Filter and clean data by reviewing reports/dashboards and performance indicators to locate and correct problems
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of 10 years’ experience
- SQL Experience
- Familiar with a visualization or business intelligence tool (i.e. DOMO, Power BI, Quickview)
- Strong communication and verbalization skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
