Desired Candidate Profile:

• Experience of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. Redshift, BigQuery, Cassandra, etc)
• Big data experience with Distributed systems such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka is preferred.
• Knowledge of one or more programming languages like Java, Scala, Python.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Data lake/Blob storage, AWS S3, Google cloud storage, etc.
• BS/MS in computer science or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant data engineering exposure
• Experience using system monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic, Datadog) and automated testing frameworks
• Familiarity with Cloud ecosystem, e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
• Experience in building complex reports, optimizing, testing and deploying them
• Working knowledge in unix and DB querying skills
• Expertise in data analysis, validation and mapping / design

• Three or more years of experience in data analysis or computer programming.
• Experience with visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power-BI, etc.)
• Good communication skills to communicate with customers, team members, external data providers, and management.
• Good skills in data administration, design, and architecture.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills. – Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Identify and gather the most frequent data consumption use cases for the datasets.
• A critical question we expect DEs to weigh in is whether existing data models can satisfy (or at least be used as foundation) prior to building new data.
• Understand the impact of each requirement and use impact to inform prioritisation decisions.
• Define data governance requirements (data access & privacy PII, retention etc.)
• Define and document data transformations.
• Optimise data pipeline design to ensure compute and storage costs are efficient over time.
• Be data driven and influence data driven decisions.
• Be factual in communication, use data effectively to tell stories, be critical of decisions not founded on data
• Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Managing the bulk data in excel and having ability to use PowerBI , Tableau or Quick sense for dashboard generations.
• Creating python scripts for data filtering.
• Ability to use MS-Excel for basic data feature functionalities should be able to use Macros , VBA in excel.
• Developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards and other BI solutions.
• Performing and documenting data analysis, data validation, and data mapping/design.
• Reviewing and improving existing systems and collaborating with teams to integrate new systems.
• Data migration from different sources to a single source
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
• Ensures master data integrity in key systems as well as maintaining the processes to support the data quality.
• Create BI Reports and data visualizations to solve business problems using Data visualization tools Tableau or other BI solution
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to help the company drive results
• Perform data analysis, data mapping and data validation activities to ensure accuracy and quality of the data.
• Work closely with business users to help non-technical employees translate data.
• Able to analyze multiple and diverse sources of information, preparing reports and dashboards that drive business decisions and improvements.
• Design, develop, and launch extremely efficient and reliable data pipelines.
• Solve issues in the existing data pipelines and build their successors.
• Build modular pipelines to construct features and modeling tables.
• Maintain data warehouse architecture and relational databases.
• Monitor incidents by performing root cause analysis and implementing the appropriate action.
• Creating python/shell scripts for batch applications to migrate data from excel to RDBMS oriented database.
• Nice to have experience in any of the following Metabase , Snowflake , Redshift and/or BigQuery.
