JOB DESCRIPTION:
MAIN PURPOSE
As a key member of the Actuarial Services team, he/she will be required to prepare and convert
spreadsheet based rating models to RADAR base or related environments. This role would ideally
suit a person looking to establish their career in Reserving/Pricing within the P&C Industry.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds pricing models using Radar software from spreadsheets
- Create Excel macros to validate results obtained in Radar
- Validates Radar premiums against premium database
- Scenario testing of possible changes to the rates to assist decision making
- Suggest model improvements
- Research and develop new ways of making the pricing process better
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Past experience with using RADAR
- Have good knowledge on P&C insurance business
- Have business and numerical acumen to detect unexpected variations in the numbers and
investigate the reasons behind it
- Be reasonably competent in running prefabricated queries. Including making small, relevant changes to the queries when necessary. Ability to create new queries when ad-hoc
requests are received.
- Having quite a few actuarial papers is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to foster frequent interaction
- Good MS Excel skills, knowledge in VBA/Excel macro is an advantage
- Knowing programming languages such as R/Python is definitely an advantage
