Pay Range
Business Analyst I: $48,200 – $60,300
Business Analyst II: $59,000 – $73,800
Sr. Business Analyst: $66,700 – $88,900
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Additional hours as required).
Summary Of Primary Duties And Responsibilities
The Business Analyst provides support for Jeffrey Energy Center to maximize production and efficiency through financial analysis and process improvements. The primary day-to-day responsibility is for the planning, forecasting, and reporting of financial and plant performance related items.
Specific Duties Include
- Assist in developing annual O&M and Capital budgets.
- Assist in identifying issues that lead to deviations from budgets.
- Develop and distribute plant performance and financial reporting packages.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and business cases scenarios.
- Assist in monthly forecasting activities.
- Identify and execute monthly accruals.
- Eliminate commitment risk by managing purchase orders and project close outs.
- Prepare journal entries for submittal to accounting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve plant match exceptions and invoicing issues.
- Utilize software applications (WAM/Maximo, Peoplesoft, Hyperion, PowerPlan, PI, Microsoft Office Products, etc.) to perform various analytics and ad-hoc reporting.
- Manage data requests from plant engineering, operations, maintenance, and plant management.
- All other tasks, duties, and projects as assigned.
Education And Experience Requirements
The preferred candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field. This role requires strong analytical capability, project management skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a dynamic work environment. A strong level of computer proficiency, organization, customer service orientation, teamwork, critical thinking, and attention to detail is important to be successful in this role.
Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities Required
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft suite products, high emphasis in excel modeling.
- Self-starter with the ability to dig into and resolve issues
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other personnel including subordinates, peers, managers, vendor’s, contractors, and other contacts.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a highly demanding team atmosphere. Ability to keep multiple jobs in controlled motion – simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and time/priority management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written).
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding And/or Testing Required
Successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Much of the time will be spent in an office environment. Must have satisfactory work record including good attendance.
