Job Overview
To be responsible for developing PHP Magento based applications for the e-commerce channels. To assist in shaping the Group’s development roadmap, delivering excellent application solutions alongside the existing development team. You will also be responsible for handling bug fixes and ensuring resolutions are well documented.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Troubleshoot and resolve client site issues
* Assist with the design and functionality of the websites and software, test and support new features
* Write front-end and back-end code in line with best practices on the Magento 2 platform. Ensuring that code is written to a high-quality standard, self-tested and communicating openly with the lead developer to ensure that tasks are well scoped, estimated and delivered
* Deliver, maintain, and improve current companies’ portfolio of websites and systems
* Assist with the creation of technical documentation
* Work on cutting edge products and applications
* Deliver new and current Magento e-commerce stores
* Writing top quality, tested code in line with Magento best practices
* Provide estimates for the Group Technology Director and ensure work stays within budget
* Provide break/fix support by analysing reported issues and providing documentation and recommendations on fixes
* Proactive approach to predicting wider issues. e.g. consider the wider code base implications for any changes or additional modules developed.
* Promote and ensure the good reputation of our company at events and with clients
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures within the defined timescales
* Undertake any other tasks which can be reasonably expected in relation to the role
* Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
* Break down client requirements into logical steps and provide accurate estimates

PERSON SPECIFICATION
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Relevant IT qualification such as bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent such as Magento 2 certifications
* Excellent knowledge of PHP, MYSQL, Magento 2 and server infrastructure
* Demonstrable experience of HTML, CSS, LESS and JavaScript (Knockout.js)
* Experienced in developing and enhancing modules for Magento 2
* Clear documentation of own code promoting best practices
* Experience in using latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence desirable
* Proven experience in business and marketing intelligence reporting and design, ideally using tools such as Google Analytics, JIRA, Slack, Deploybot, docker etc
* Able to work independently and deliver results in a timely manner
* An excellent problem solver
* Able to work under pressure and to deadlines within a fast-paced environment
