Summary

Provides financial and operational data analysis to advance healthcare system initiatives and improve quality. Proactively seeks out information to improve the accuracy of pre service estimates. Identifies and documents system and process issues, determines root cause, and recommends possible solutions. Develops and maintains reports and dashboards that provide enhanced insight and improve organizational decision-making. Develops and delivers impactful presentations regarding a variety of accounts, analyzes trends, and prepares fiscal reports used by management in strategic planning. Identifies and keeps abreast of emerging price transparency trends, recommending and designing analyses to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge. This position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as great attention to detail and accuracy. Must maintain excellent communications with customers with regard to data, information requests, and status. Successful candidates will have experience managing multiple and competing tasks and priorities with delivery deadlines in fast paced, complex environment. Proven experience distilling, breaking down, and communicating complex data and information into insights that drive decisive action for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops or modifies and implements business systems. Performs unit, systems, and parallel tests of new or redesigned systems and processes
  • May supervise a group of subordinate employees to include selection, training, appraisal, coaching and disciplining in accordance with UNCHCS policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and analyzes anticipated and actual financial responsibility in relation to price transparency and makes changes to templates as appropriate.
  • Monitors compliance with policies and procedures and makes recommendations for changes as appropriate. Develops and documents procedures.
  • Participates in System-wide initiatives to improve operational efficiencies. May lead Continuous Quality Improvement teams.
  • Prepares financial analyses for departmental and institutional planning.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Administration or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).

Licensure/Certification Requirements

  • No licensure or certification required.

Professional Experience Requirements

  • If a Bachelor’s degree: Two (2) years of experience in professional accounting, management of an operational unit, business analysis or financial analysis.
  • If an Associate’s degree: Six (6) years of experience in professional accounting, management of an operational unit, business analysis or financial analysis.
  • If a High School diploma or GED: Ten (10) years of experience in professional accounting, management of an operational unit, business analysis or financial analysis.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Experience managing multiple and competing tasks and priorities with delivery deadlines in fast paced, complex environment. Great attention to detail and accuracy. Must maintain excellent communications with management.
