The property technology space is growing rapidly, and Kastle Systems is leading the way. We are on the hunt for a strategic and collaborative visionary to develop and lead our data business strategy. Kastle has hosted centralized customer databases for fifty years, and the systems we manage for our customers produce over nine million transactions a day. Within that data are insights – insights about how safe our customers are, how their spaces operate, how they work (or don’t) – waiting to tell stories that enable efficiencies, produce customer decisions and ultimately improve their businesses. The Kastle Back to Work Barometer is the most used, referenced and trusted source on office occupancy in the world, being referenced thousands of times over the last two years by major publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and CNBC. Our data enables improved planning and smarter decisions related to real estate trends, with firms such as Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan leveraging our insights for their investment research. We are growing our data platform and looking for the right leader to build a significant business, share our deep insights and reinforce the Kastle brand.
Responsibilities
The Vice President – Data Strategy and Analytics is responsible for driving the strategic vision for our data product and partnership business. In this role you will own the data business to include data product development, the use of our data with third party sources, and the monetization of customer data collected by Kastle.
This Monetization Will Come By Leading
- The production of consumable data insights and development of a self-service data platform that enhance the Kastle value proposition for the existing customer, ensuring improved customer retention and renewal rates.
- The creation of consumable data insights that enables stronger real estate decisions and fundamentally strengthens customer utility of our services.
- The commercialization of data that can be marketed as standalone insights, or as premium add-on subscriptions.
- The construction of scalable data platforms that allow collected customer data to be anonymized and aggregated for heuristic use of third-party sources for purposes of marketing and creating new revenue streams.
Core Responsibilities
Provide direction on the creation of great data
Create insights that will matter to customers means planning for the existence of great data. You will work with the leads of various data sources to plan for the capture of data that matters. We will also look to you to identify 3rd party data sources that can enhance the insights that we develop.
Manage the harvesting and reporting of customer data
Ensuring that customer data is delivered with consumable insights that convey the directional integrity our customers expect from us and further the company’s mission of being the customer’s premier service provider and trusted partner.
Provide multi-functional insights to customers
The best insights you will help reveal will be those that (1) are valuable to the customer in and of themselves, (2) further the expansion of more services to be purchased by the customer, and (3) enhance customer loyalty.
Provide direction that informs product development
Through data insights, working in concert with product development to identify gaps and opportunities in Kastle’s existing product features and our array of services and support the launch of those services, products, and new revenue streams.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
- 7-10+ years of experience in a data analysis field, with demonstrated business impact in use of data
- Advanced level of communication skills, both verbally and in writing to ensure common understanding
- High Level of Proficiency in MS SQL
- High Level of Proficiency in Data Visualization tools including MSFT Power BI
- Understanding of modern data storage methods and environments
- Ability to identify opportunities and structure solutions through complex data analysis
- Confident communicator who is effective at very senior levels of engagement and skilled in translating ideas into clear, high impact communication.
- Entrepreneurial nature to identify opportunity to develop and execute plan; business building a plus
