Your Role and Responsibilities
The Principal Performance Engineer is an integral part of the team that is responsible for participating in the execution of procedures for ensuring the performance, scalability, and quality of new features and releases of software. To achieve this, the Performance Engineer will be required to collaborate across functional teams (QA, DevOps, Product, and others) to plan, define, and execute performance/load/capacity tests and report on any issues that are observed during the testing cycle.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide testing and analysis of high-volume systems to ensure they are compliant with load and performance requirements and can perform well in production.
• Evaluate system performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and work with Development to innovate appropriate resolutions.
• Define, develop and conduct system performance and stress testing.
• Analyze test results and suggest action plans.
• Report performance test results to Quality Assurance, Customer Support, Development, and Product Management.
• Compile and analyze test results and write test reports.
• Direct and/or assist in root cause analysis of performance issues.
• Provide technical recommendations for system performance measurement and analysis, scalable architecture, and profiling/troubleshooting techniques.
• Solid understanding of On-Prem to Cloud evolution as well as hands-on experience working with public cloud.

Mentor junior members of the team on performance-related testing.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Motivated -self-starting individual and a team player.
• At least 7+ years of experience working as a performance engineer.
• Demonstrated experience with open source load testing tools such as Apache JMeter, httperf, etc.
• Software automation development skills (at least one)Java, Python, GO, etc).
• Experience with SQL databasesquerying, profiling, and performance tuning.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience working with Unix and Windows environments.
• Demonstrates strong ability to take ownership of the projects and provide adequate visibility on the progress.

Aggressively addresses and resolves problems, and actively improves processes, products, and/or services.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
