Job Description

We are seeking Business Analysts to join our Case Management Team as we look to deliver technology changes that enable the CPS to constantly adapt to the changing crime landscape. With experience of, or an interest in, working in a Digital environment, the successful candidates will play a key role within the Case Management System team to drive forward digital change and help to deliver the CPS’s Digital Strategy 2025 and beyond.

The postholders will support the Senior Business Analysts in the team to deliver larger and more complex projects, while taking the lead on small to medium sized projects. They will investigate, specify and document business functions, processes, information flows and data structures, using appropriate methodologies and techniques. Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, they will help to deliver key and often high-profile changes to the Case Management System and associated applications. Proactively engaging users at regular and appropriate opportunities to ensure user centric design, and high-quality training and support.

The postholders will have the opportunity to work across the CMS Portfolio and play a key role in the development, analysis and delivery of planned and future technology changes.

Working within a remote team, the postholders will be able to work collaboratively and effectively from a remote setting, with occasional travel when required. There is flexibility as to where the candidates will work on a day-to-day basis, whether at home or in their local CPS office.

Responsibilities

  • Takes responsibility for leading small or medium sized projects throughout their life-cycle, gathering requirements through user research and stakeholder workshops.
  • Assists and supports the Senior Business Analysts and team when necessary to successfully deliver projects/programmes.
  • Translates often complex Digital changes into requirements and communicating these using appropriate methods to stakeholders to maximise understanding.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to seek and record their opinions to ensure accuracy and to deliver a high-quality product.
  • Uses Agile methodologies and frameworks in order to generate and prioritise Product Backlogs within a team environment.
  • Applies appropriate modelling and analysis tools, methods and standards in an intelligent and effective way to achieve success.
  • Analyses business requirements and works with suppliers to understand technical viability, as well as adherence to business objectives, challenging positively as appropriate.
  • Applies a digital understanding to their work. Is able to identify and implement solutions to improve user experience and drive up quality.
  • Monitors and responds to CMS related issues raised by users, seeking out technical assistance when needed
  • Liaises with the CMS Business Product Owners to review the CMS backlog and prioritises new and existing demand.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.

Waiting List
