Job Summary:
The Data Engineer’s role is to play a lead role in developing a high-performance data platform, integrating data from a variety of internal and external sources, in order to support data and analytics activities. This is a technical role that involves defining changes to the warehouse data model and building scalable and efficient processes to populate or modify warehouse data. The successful candidate will have hands-on data processing and data modeling experience in cloud and on-prem environments.
Job Specifications (Required Skills)
· 6+ years experience in software development and delivery track record in a range or roles in a scrum environment
· 2+ years development experience with Confluent/Apache Kafka, AWS Services, implemented Cloud Data Solutions.
· 4+ years development experience with Java-Spring Boot, docker containers, EKS
· Experience with micro-service application architecture, developed Java Spring Boot container applications
· Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Having used container orchestration tool e.g., Rancher.
· Experience with code management tools and change control processes – Git/bitbucket
· Strong experience in No-SQL and ETL development, used tools like mongoDB
· Knowledge in Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CICD) tools – AzureDevops
· Skilled in Agile development/methodologies
· Takes a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail
· Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills; experience leading groups of people through discussions, technical or otherwise
· Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization.Job Specifications (Preferred Skills)· Designing, developing and/or supporting interfaces and programs for Cloud ODS platforms
· Worked on legacy data modernizing project experience preferred.
· Confluent KSQL is a plus.
· Development experience with AWS API Gateway/Lambda/NoSQL-MongoDB
· Implementation of data streaming from Legacy Systems(MVS DB2/VSAM) and Teradata to Cloud platform experience would be a plus.
· Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
· Demonstrates a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail
· Mentors less experienced developers on best practices in AWS Cloud technology.
