Brooksource is searching for a SQL Developer to join its Fortune 70 Telecommunications client in the South Charlotte area. You would be joining the Business Intelligence group to transform raw data into consumable information for various business groups across the organization as well as help with long standing initiatives to help with the SDLC. Requirements:
- 1 – 5 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of SQL scripting, including writing and optimizing queries in multiple dialects.
- Hands on experience with VB scripting.
- Hands on experience with Python.
- Strong knowledge of the development and deployment of enterprise-wide databases and related systems required.
- Strong skills in data modeling, physical database design and logic also essential.
- Is a hands-on developer and teammate with passion for working on a variety of data projects.
- Has the ability to write coherent technical documentation.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both business users and development teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
- Self-sufficient and an independent worker
- Highly motivated, team-oriented, self-learner, responsible, and focused on exceeding expectations.
- Shell scripting on Unix experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops databases or systems that access or integrate with databases.
- Responsible for implementation and support of ETL, monitoring and reporting processes.
- Must be an analytical thinker with a passion for figuring things out; creative problem solving is key.
- Applies software engineering methodologies and business logic to produce and maintain analytics code used to transform raw data into consumable information.
- Own your work from technical design, development, testing, maintaining, and documenting.
- Configures and tests new business systems data stores.
- Provides recommendations including definition of physical structure, functional capabilities, security structure, and the backup and recovery processes.
- Develops and optimizes stored procedures.
- Documents system details and maintenance process and trains DBAs as needed.
