Job Location: East Rancho Dominguez, CA
Our Los Angeles-based logistics client seeks a Financial Analyst (our client would consider a Senior Financial Analyst) to join their finance team. This role is open because of 100% year over year growth.
Job – The Financial Analyst will perform variance analyses, log development costs, maintain multi-year plans, and standard budgeting and forecasting. The Financial Analyst will also interact with private equity professionals and banks on financing issues.
The Financial Analyst will report to a Director of Finance.
Job Site Status (Onsite, Hybrid, Remote) – Hybrid schedule (up to two (2) days/week) after an initial period of onsite onboarding and training.
Culture/Environment – Our client boasts a startup culture with plenty of variety and a minimal number of monotonous tasks. This role will have 1 to 1 mentorship and training with the Director of Finance.
Compensation – Salary range starts at $80,000/year and increases depending on qualifications.
DUTIES OF THE FINANCIAL ANALYST
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Extract financial data from corporate reporting and ERP systems
- Consolidate extracted data for reporting
- Analyze differences between budgeted and actual figures (variance analysis)
· Perform analysis on spending, headcount, cash flows, product costs, and production margins
· Assist in formulating annual budgets
· Assist in headcount requirements
Financial Reporting
- Prepare reports to explain variances to management
- Present reports to management
Miscellaneous
- Liaise with private equity and banking professionals
- Perform ad hoc projects as called upon by management
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE FINANCIAL ANALYST
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
- At least two (2) years of FP&A experience
- Competency in creating financial reports, financial models, and planning tools
- Current or prior employment at a fast growth company (preferably under $100 million of annual revenue)
Preferred
- Current or prior employment at a supply chain/logistics/distribution company
- Understanding of the three (3) statement model (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement)

- Advanced MS Excel Skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, index/match, IF formulas)
- Proficiency in any Business Intelligence (BI) and/or programming (SQL)

- Professional presentation skills
