• Understands the basic as well as some advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of telecommunications voice systems.
• Competent to interpret diagnostic and usage reports from telecommunications equipment.
• Knows and consistently uses the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of telecommunication voice programming.
• Basic understanding of network requirements.
• Evaluates and maintains multiple aspects of existing or proposed telecommunication voice systems.
• May assist in writing and maintaining operating manuals and the development of specifications, records, and form layouts.
• Analyzes user needs and recommends solutions to the hardware and software systems supporting telecommunication voice operations.
• Reviews diagnostic reports and interprets data.
• Occasionally may guide technicians in testing and/or monitoring equipment.
• Offers simple telecommunications voice solutions.
• Occasionally suggests solutions based on analysis and interpretation of equipment diagnostics, usage reports, and equipment programming.
