Location/Division Specific Information

This position will be based in Bangalore, India and be part of the Storage and Data Protection team within Corporate Infrastructure and Security.

How will you make an impact?

The role will have a primary focus on the implementation, and management of storage solutions at Thermo Fisher Scientific. These solutions run applications and services that are vital to mission-critical business functions.

What will you do?

• Day to day support & management of a large-scale storage environment, including all common storage tasks
• Deploy new solutions and perform storage migrations as required, primarily NAS and cloud-based services
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support global operations

In this role you will be part of the Storage and Data Protection team that is responsible for storage and backup functions across 180+ sites and our primary data centers. You will work as part of one global team, in a follow the sun support model with peers in the US and Hungary.

How will you get here?

Education

Combined minimum of 4 years higher education and/or work experience supporting storage systems

Experience

• Managed and supported a global storage environment (SAN and NAS)
• AWS storage services (S3, EBS, EFS, FSx), or similar services within Azure or Google Cloud
• Support of storage for both Windows and Linux platforms
• Prior experience in a highly regulated environment is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• In depth knowledge of EMC PowerMax/VMAX, Unity/VNX storage arrays
• NetApp and Isilon NAS systems
• HPE Nimble and Pure experience a plus
• Cloud storage services, AWS S3/Glacier/FSx/EFS, Azure Files
• Python, or shell scripting
