Business Intelligence Intern – Shopko Optical
Corporate, Part-Time
Position Summary
Work closely with the business to help interpret data, design/develop visual presentations that will help facilitate decisions throughout the company, be exposed to Microsoft BI Stack and become proficient in Power BI and DAX.
Duties And Responsibilities
ANALYTICAL INTERPRETATION
- Design and create new reports, dashboards, and data analyses. Implement revisions to existing reports as needed
- Perform administration and maintenance of reporting environment
- Work closely with key stakeholders to identify how data and information needs to be presented throughout the company
- Assure proper validation of new or revised reports is completed
- Remain knowledgeable of industry trends, practices, and innovations
Minimum Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information systems, business analytics or computer science
- Excellent mathematical skills to derive insights from data and utilize them to develop models and reports for the business
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Well organized with good time management skills
- Collaborative personality and the ability to work within a team
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to thrive within a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)
- Able to lift 10 to 20 pounds
- Able to view/read computer screen for extended periods of time
- Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines
- Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
