The MATLAB Data IO team is one of the core teams in MathWorks who designs and develops the data import/export, data pre-processing and data analytics functionalities that are available in MATLAB.

As a Software Engineer in Test, you are responsible for developing software automation required to achieve high quality for MATLAB functions, that help with data/big-data IO operations. As a member of the MATLAB Data IO team, you will participate in the project from its early design stages and play a critical role in driving it to final product release.

• Reviewing software requirements and design documents
• Creating test plans, developing test tools, and writing automated/performance/memory tests to ensure quality
• Setting up and maintaining infrastructures (E.g., Hadoop/Hive clusters) required for big-data IO development/qualification
• Finding, reporting, and qualifying product bugs using an in-house bug tracking system
• Partnering with cross functional teams to improve development processes

• MS in Computer Science or similar degree is required
• Programming experience in MATLAB or other scientific programming languages such as Python
• OOP experience is desirable
• Experience with software development or quality engineering is a plus

• A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master’s degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
