- Perform tool development and improvement for reliability analysis of Enbridge assets using various computing platforms (e.g. ERA, Python, MATLAB, @Risk). This includes development of reliability model applications (e.g. Monte Carlo simulations, Bayesian Network, Fault Tree, Decision Tree) for asset threats.
- Conduct detailed analysis investigations for assets that do not meet integrity reliability targets following existing processes.
- Address stakeholders’ requests including problem definition, data collection, application of standard assessment techniques, and communication of results.
- Participate in the documentation and effective communication of methodology, results, limitations, etc. to internal and external stakeholders for standard assessments.
- Lead continuous improvement of different assessment tools and techniques through:
- Research relevant literature; collecting relevant data for feasibility analysis and system-wide analysis; propose improvement ideas for better data accuracy and data quality.
- Lead automation and improvement of existing models.
- Develop processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Generate industry publications and technical reports.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from Integrity Reliability team members to align with department objectives.
- You have:
- Related University degree OR a two year technical diploma
- 4 or more years of directly related experience
- Advanced statistics and data analytics.
- Reliability analysis, including statistical analysis, results interpretation, system modeling.
- Quantitative or probabilistic risk assessment (QRA/PRA);
- Structural reliability models (e.g., historical index-based, quantitative Monte Carlo, Bayesian);
- Asset integrity (e.g., pipeline, facility) applications (e.g., risk-based inspection, repair recommendation);
- Substantiating safety-critical engineering decisions using information derived from probability & statistics.
- Development projects involving literature review, data processing & interpretation, communication of findings
- The following are considered assets:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., descriptive & inferential statistics, data science, machine learning).
- Experience with coding of integrity reliability software (e.g., index-based, quantitative Monte Carlo, Bayesian).
- Journal and conference publications related to probabilistic/quantitative risk and reliability analysis.
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) – American Society of Quality (ASQ).
