BI Manager

The Business Intelligence Manager leads efforts to develop business growth and expansion strategies while working in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment. The position will play a pivotal role in shaping business intelligence strategy throughout ABS and directly impacting the business by delivering decision-driven data products

This role has a hybrid work schedule with Monday and Friday remote and Tuesday thru Thursday at our modern corporate headquarters in Spring, Texas.

What You Will Do:

• Lead the development of integrated analytical approaches, project strategies, and tactics

• Engage with senior leadership on a wide range of issues related to business intelligence strategy, enterprise reporting & analysis practices, data product vision & development, etc.

• Engage with functional/departmental leadership on issues related to business unit reporting & analysis practices, data product vision & development, etc.

• Leads the development of project guidelines, objectives, and deliverables by ensuring that internal programs are economically profitable, strategically sound, and administratively feasible

• Lead team in conducting ongoing business intelligence, planning activities, business analysis, and project feasibility analysis

• Converting business requirements into functional data products

• Collaborates across businesses, functions, and regions to align strategy and direction with corporate and regional approaches

• Train and develop the team in technical areas such as general BI development, decision-driven product development, etc.

• Train and develop the team in non-technical areas such as business acumen and customer engagement

• Manages global cross-functional development and customer teams and communications to successfully deliver data products

• Rationalize the existing portfolio of deployed BI products & develop measures for ongoing rationalization

• Develop standards and best practices for enterprise development & visualization

What You Will Need:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Highly proficient in Power BI development

• Highly proficient in SQL

• Experience in the Azure suite such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Synapse

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills consistent with a client group, including senior managers & executives

• Attentive to details

• Highly proficient in translating complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Ability to manage highly confidential material

• Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision

• The management skills to organize, plan, and direct the work activities of other professional employees.

• The human relations skills necessary to organize, direct and motivate senior-level professionals and managers. These skills are also required to develop strong client relationships at the highest levels.

• An entrepreneurial mentality that enables the incumbent to recognize and capitalize on new business opportunities.

• Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.

Education & Experience:

Minimum years of Experience:

• Typically, eight or more years of experience in Business Intelligence team leadership

Required/Preferred Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a STEM field is required

Required/Preferred Professional Requirements

• Nice to have Azure Data Fundamentals

• Nice to have Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate

• Nice to have Power BI Analyst Associate and/or Certified Business Intelligence Professional

• Nice to have Agile/Scrum Certifications

Working Conditions

Work will normally be performed in an air-conditioned office environment and will generally be non-manual in nature. Occasional travel will be required to perform Principal Duties and Responsibilities.
