Objectives of this Role:

• Software developer for high reliability embedded systems for next generation space applications.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Develop and verify mission, spacecraft, and instrument flight software for a variety of space applications applying sound software engineering disciplines and practices.
• Perform tasks related to applied research, hardware and software integration, testing, implementation, installation, and documentation.

Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelors with a 3.00 GPA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering
• 1-3 years: C/C++ software development experience
• 0-3 years: Embedded software development experience related to high-reliability or low-power systems
• Must have knowledge or an interest in development of embedded systems software, real time operating systems, and the design of real-time systems
• Embedded C/C++ and understanding efficient algorithm and data structure design is helpful
• Position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work in project team environments
• Interest and/or experience in working with hardware and direct space flight design experience
• Familiarity with VxWorks, RTEMS, Embedded Linux, low-level networking protocols, and Python is helpful
• Experience with Git (or similar versioning software), Continuous Integration/Testing, Validation and Verification, and designing software to strongly defined interfaces is beneficial
• Experience in or an interest in analyzing software utilization, throughput, and memory allocation
• A valid/clear driver’s license is required
