Technical Expertise
• Proven, hands-on experience in a data-focused role
• Exploratory data analysis and/or statistical modeling
• Experience in predictive modelling: build, calibrate and test the model
• Experience in data wrangling: processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
• Experience working with databases
• Proficient in data analysis in MS Excel
• Ability to share findings/conclusions through meaningful data visualizations
Programming Languages
• Adept in R (intermediate/advanced)
• Good to know: MATLAB/ Python
• Basic/intermediate SQL
Additional Skills (good to have)
• Proficiency in statistical ML algorithms and statistics analysis methods
• Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, etc.)
• Knowledge of some cloud service platform such as MS Azure
• Version control such as Git

Principal duties / responsibilities
• End to end development of actuarial models
• Involves development of algorithms and R coding
• Alpha testing and liaising with front end developers
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical design documentation, test scripts and user manuals
• Ability to understand and collect requirements from clients
Process Synopsis
This role is for a Developer in a team that deals with analytics for insurance. The team is involved in end-to-end development of actuarial models that are used by different teams within the Organization. This includes conceptualization and design of the algorithm, setting up of the database, coding, alpha testing and design of technical and user manuals. At regular intervals, updating of the existing models is also carried out. This process involves regression analyses and parametrization.
