What You will do
Although what you do day-to-day may vary greatly, the general goal and focuses include the following:
- Help build a phenomenal team: directly lead a growing team of technical data analysts, crafting the direction of a new and constantly evolving role at Uber
- Build partnerships with other Uber functions and deliver on their analytics and reporting tasks
- Review data models, queries, and ad-hoc data analysis to keep the nerve center of our teams running at full speed
- Build tools and systems for teams across geographies to help them bring to bear all of Uber’s data
- Proactively develop new KPIs/metrics to identify trends, generate insights and make valuable contributions to our partners
- Define, build, improve, and automate reporting methods
Basic Qualifications
- 4-6 years of work experience in a quantitative role in tech, finance, or consulting; management experience in tech preferred
Engineering or Engineering+MBA; educational background in data analytics, management information systems or similar courses a plus - An outstanding understanding of databases, data relationships, and data integrity
- Premier leadership skills – you should encourage, lead, and nurture energetic analytical talent
- Self-starter demeanour and ability to exercise judgment and tackle difficult problems without direct supervision
- Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail; accuracy is a must!
- A preference for quality over quantity – you get the math right and seek to build the right solution; you like a team that holds each other to a high bar
- Ability to lead end-to-end projects right from conceptualisation to final execution by collaborating with multiple stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in SQL
- 1+ years of People management experience will be a plus.
- Development experience in at least one scripting language (Python and/or R preferred)
