Data Engineer III:
What you’ll do:
Designing, developing, deploying and managing high volume/high transactional mission critical
SQL/No SQL systems
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of internals to solve performance problems and find optimizations in existing code
- Experience in designing and deploying ETLs for Data Warehouse solutions
- Helping us scale by standardizing our fleet of databases instances and automating their deployment/maintenance
- Automation/Configuration Management – Chef, Jenkins, Cloud Formation, etc.
- Lead database upgrade efforts in AWS environment
- Disaster Recovery planning and Implementation
- Define actionable KPIs and configure monitoring/alerting
- Document administration and response procedures through cookbooks & playbooks
Who you are:
5+ years’ experience with managing high transaction volume SQL/No SQL systems like SQL Server,
MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Dynamo
Demonstrable experience and knowledge in DWH concepts and ETL tools like Informatica
Strong aptitude for building robust, automated processes and tools
Amazon AWS experience, particularly RDS, EC2 and Aurora
Experience in a Linux environment, and familiarity writing shell scripts
Able to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
Ability to code via shell or scripting language such as Python, Perl or PowerShell;
NoSQL databases experience –Mongo or Dynamo
Experience with Python or other scripting language
Experience with Grafana, Graphite, CloudWatch or PagerDuty
Amazon RedShift experience – Nice to have
