With this mission, we are setting up a Data as a Service team at Novartis Hyderabad, which would work with the Chief Digital Office, Novartis Business units and industry leading technology partners, to drive the execution of Novartis’ data strategy , turning its rich data resources into real strategic assets to drive actionable insights across the organization. This ambition is one of key pillars in the broader digital transformation happening at Novartis to be a ‘medicines and data science company.

Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Preliminary domain understanding in Commercial operations, Sales & Marketing. Experience in working in Pharma / Life Science industry is preferred
• Collaborate with business partners, data scientists and IT teams to create and implement world class data products and solutions
• Supports in business and data analysis exercises; act as a hands-on engineer in building data pipelines, carrying out data quality management and data stewardship activities and support IT in implementation of DWH, MDM and Data FAIRification
• Brings good understanding of enterprise approved schema, tools and platforms and can demonstrate them to deliver high quality clean and linked data across projects
• Brings good understanding of ETL, RDBMS, SQL and problem-solving skills
• Manage quality and consistency of NBS CONEXTS data services delivery to all stakeholders
• Deliver on data strategy priorities in an AGILE manner with appropriate documentation and communication throughout the delivery of services.

What You’ll bring to the role:

Essential:

• Education (minimum/desirable): Bachelors/Masters in Computer Sciences / IT or other quantitative sciences. Experience / Skills: 2-4 years’ experience in a Global company as a data analyst, business analyst, data engineer, modeler, ETL developer or data steward
• Good understanding of data management concepts such as DWH, RDBMS, ETL, BI architecture, Data operations/Stewardship, MDM and Data Quality controls
• Good hands on expertise on Data Modeling, SQL or any other scripting languages like Python, Shell scripting, PySpark for data preparation and analysis
• Ability to handle large volume of data and skilled in data preparation, data profiling, data analysis and data validation activities is must
• Experience on data migration projects, analysis of current vs desired data architecture would be highly preferred

Desirable requirements:

• Hands on experience on MS office (specially MS Excel) is must. Good communication and presentation skills. Good to have consulting and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Foundational understanding of big data ecosystem and cloud technologies would be an advantage. Good to have basic business understanding of pharmaceutical industry and data standards. Domain experience in at least one of the following areas – a) Pharma R&D, b) Manufacturing, Procurement and Supply Chain and c) Marketing and Sales is preferred.
