Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop sustainable processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
- Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and process improvements for Supply Chain
- Write / update SQL queries from our SAP Business One database
- Generate and maintain Python, Tableau, Excel VBA and Power Query models
- Formulating, suggesting, and managing data-driven projects which are geared at furthering the business’s interests
- Build algorithms and design experiments to merge, manage, interrogate, and extract data to supply tailored reports as per business needs
- Use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce required solutions to problems
- Suggesting ways in which insights obtained might be used to inform business strategies
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
- Use predictive modeling to optimize inventory management, item master data management, freight management and Supply Chain network capacity
- Collaborate with Logistics, Order Fulfillment, and other cross-functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes
- Other related duties as assigned
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain or related area of study
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Data Scientist / Software developer
- Thorough understanding of Supply Chain processes (e.g. inventory and capacity management)
- Proficiency in R or Python, in depth understanding of SQL, SAP Business One tables
- Experience in Business intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, MS suite with Power Query, SmartSheet
- Machine Learning / AI / API Integration experience is an asset.
- The ideal candidate will have Ecommerce working experience.
- Experience in the development, validation, and implementation of machine-learning algorithms and models; understanding of real-world advantages and limitations of each
- Capable of building sustainable, scalable, and strategic solutions with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and demands in a fast paced, time-sensitive environment
- Thrives in an environment of change and ambiguity
